Another story etched in a face by time

I saw this gentleman outside a bookstore in Portland and couldn’t resist asking him if I could take his picture. He seemed delighted and when I complemented him about his hat he explained that it was his favorite fishing hat. When it get’s soaked with rain you take it off, wring it out and put it back on, he exclaimed. I look in those eyes and at the wrinkles on his face and I see a story.

Cranberry Apple Tart – more food photography

I don’t know who invented the tart, but they must have been evil.  These things are addicting and sometimes you have to get a dozen of them to find the one perfect for the shot. So, what do ya do with the rest of em’? Guess? I’ve gained 30 lbs this week.

Focus on Youth photography organization

These are two of the students from the Focus on Youth organization that works to empower at-risk youth through photography classes. We teach the students how to use film cameras, process film and make prints in an 8 week period. It’s been interesting to go back into the darkroom after more than 7 years of shooting digitally.  You can visit their web site at www.focusonyouth.org
